How far is "too" far for a daily commute to college?

Jose Bouliouris: for not having alot of extra cash 30-45 min. is leggitbut if it's one you really have your heart set on a hour is good.make sure you go to the college you want. don't do something you hate.

Booker Moros: If you are going to be a full time student, it may be difficult to commute the 1 1/2 hours there and back every day; that is three hours of driving a day and perhaps fifteen a week (which at most universities is the average number of hours a student will spend in class per week). I personally would not be able to handle that much driving (especially when on days you may be driving more than you are attending classes), but it really depends on how much driving you can tolerate. It is up to you to decide the best between those two difficult choices, driving a lot every day, or spending most days of the week away from your husband. Robbie Starchman: You have alot to consider...The two biggest things to keep in mind are gas money and time.Two hours each way is four hours a day. Lets say you go to school four days a week. That is 16 hours of driving that could be used for something else.Gas money would also be an issue. Driving four hours a day would add up. If it is by car you need to think ! about the gas bill: 4 hours by car every day could almost equa! l the rent on a room in a cheap shared house/apartment (depending on location).
