Ermelinda Stalnaker: Handheld antennas are poor on CB unless you are very close. Sunspot cycles have nothing to do with local communications, so you are okay there.An external antenna will help.
Dick Ovdenk: your antenna is MARGINAL to start with, we are in a low sunspot cycle, have a real CB shop test the receiver and antenna.
Ramon Dahlheimer: because it is a handheld radio. the short antenna makes for very limited range.
